Express Employment Professionals in Bellingham is hiring a Planning Manager for a well-established lumber mill manufacturing company. This company offers a tenured team, an exceptional internal work culture, and a work-life balance. You will be responsible for overseeing, training, and hiring new employees, managing schedules, and communicating with suppliers and clients to enhance quality, productivity, and profitability. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of production management experience, strong industry knowledge, be a self-starter and team player, and possess excellent communication skills with a customer-focused approach. Pay: $80k-$110k, DOE

Shift: Monday-Friday 7 am – 3:30 pm

Location: Whatcom County

Position Type: Direct Hire

-Oversee hiring, training, and maintain a positive work environment for all employees.

-Ensure timely ordering of supplies to support continuous operations

-Communicate with clients to define program parameters and identify opportunities for expanding services

-Address inquiries and resolve complaints from existing and potential clients

- Manage scheduling and direction of mill operations to enhance quality, productivity, and profitability

-Operate machinery as needed when staff are absent, and no immediate replacement is available

-Assist in the preparation of quotes for services and contribute to the preparation of business plans and capital expenditure budgets/forecasts

-Provide support to other departments as necessary

-Communicate effectively with company Directors to ensure alignment with organizational goals

-Comply with all company policies and contribute to maintaining a safe, clean, and orderly work environment

Education and/or Experience:

-Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience

-5+ years of industry experience

-Strong working knowledge of planer operations is essential.

-Minimum 3 years of managerial/supervisory experience

-Knowledge of process improvement, budgeting, and production standards
