Position: Quality Technician II

Location: Burlington, WA  

Schedule: Day Shift

What you get to do: 

• Inspecting output samples using industry-appropriate methods.
• Checking that the assembly or production line adheres to standards and procedures and complying with legal requirements
• Reviewing blueprints and specifications to compare to produced goods
• Recording inspection results by completing reports, summarizing re-works and wastes and inputting data into a quality database
• Training the production team on quality control measures to improve product excellence
• Proposing improvements to the production process
• Monitoring the use of equipment to ensure it is safe and discard any that do not meet standards
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and radiographs
• Using gauges such as calipers and micrometers to measure products
• Collecting and compiling statistical quality data
• Assisting in the development of test methods and inspection plans
• Determining the causes of product defects and reworks
• Verifying all equipment is calibrated correctly
• Perform quality controls following the Work Instructions (WI’s) on raw materials, semi-finished, and finished products
• Suggest improvements to the WI’s to reduce scraps and improve the performance of the finished product
• Improve the capacity for in-depth analysis and improvement of the process.
• Continually support the Production staff on WI’s, quality, and process issues in cooperation with Management
• Create statistical analysis and reports on the quality of raw materials and finished products as required.
• Utilize and maintain the supplied instruments of measurement according to WI and safety standards
• Monitor and suggest improvements to Management on the production recipes for the various steps of the process
• Monitor and audit operations, suggesting improvements to the tools of quality control used in the production line
• Manage, maintain, and calibrate the instruments of measurement in the production line and in the QA room
• Produce, in collaboration with the certified laboratories, 'Master Modules' as required
• Suggest measures that will improve the traceability of the finished product
• In collaboration with Management, maintain all documentation required for the Quality manual in respecting the ISO standards
• Act as a driving force for continual improvement

What you need to be successful:

• Manufacturing experience in a technical role
• Proven proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office and Excel programs, and statistical software packages
• Excellent understanding of problem-solving techniques
